Nice post. I am currently working on a solution to tag twitts and friends and a new twitter client. If somebody is interested in a beta-test or is willing to share what features you miss please mail me at twittpulse(a)gmail.com

"FATSecret" isn't as big as other similar sites however I think that it is the best from your list. I have been using it for a long time and everything works good.

Nice overview Pai!

I think the lines that separate different online communication channels continue to blur, creating all sorts of interesting and entirely new ways for people interact.

Whether it's enhancing a given channel and providing new ways to think about the information flow (Xobni and Xoopit), parsing that information flow to more easily extract value (Tripit), or reducing the cognitive load of managing multiple disparate channels (Fuser), it's clear that this is a fertile area for innovation. Of course, innovation sometimes requires exploration that isn't always valuable.

It would be really interesting to see a follow-up post from you on your experiences using each of these new tools, how they changed your communication experience, and ultimately which ones will end up being "keepers" in your Internet toolbox.

This is great news. As much as I use other online apps, I'm still old school enough to use gmail as my organizational system. xoopit, or whatever works best, looks like an improvement.
